This collection draws its soul from China’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage, inspired by the extraordinary embroidery traditions of the Yi and Zang-Qiang cultures. These are not decorative techniques frozen in time, but living art forms—stitched with memory, belief, and identity.

For this collection, our design team journeyed deep into Sichuan, working side by side with master artisans whose hands carry centuries of knowledge. Together, we studied traditional stitch language—how nature becomes pattern, how symbolism becomes form—and reinterpreted it through a contemporary design lens.

Relaxed cuts replace ceremonial rigidity. Historic motifs are refined into subtle statements. Every garment is meant to move, breathe, and belong in the modern wardrobe—proof that heritage does not need to stand still to remain authentic.

The Artisans Behind the Threads

Yang Huazhen (楊華珍)

National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Inheritor – Zang-Qiang Embroidery

A lifelong guardian of Zang-Qiang embroidery, Yang Huazhen has dedicated her career to preserving and evolving this intricate folk art from Wenchuan County, Sichuan. Known for its precise stitching, balanced compositions, and vivid color contrasts—sometimes monochrome, sometimes as radiant as neon—Qiang embroidery is both disciplined and expressive.

Her works have been collected by museums and heads of state, and her collaborations with global brands such as Hermès and Starbucks have brought this heritage craft onto the international stage. In Threads of Heritage, her embroidery speaks softly yet powerfully—proof that refinement often lies in restraint.

Jia Bazize (賈巴子則)

National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Inheritor – Yi Costume & Embroidery

A pioneer in the modern preservation of Yi embroidery, Jia Bazize founded China’s first professional Yi costume manufacturing facility. Beyond craftsmanship, her impact lies in empowerment—training over 3,600 Yi embroiderers, enabling financial independence and cultural continuity within their communities.

Yi embroidery is bold and symbolic, drawing inspiration from nature, rituals, and collective memory. Its abstract, totemic language makes it instantly recognizable—and uniquely powerful. In this collection, these motifs are distilled into modern fashion codes, allowing tradition to speak fluently to today’s wearer.
