GRACE CHOI was born in Shanghai, and raised in the international city of Hong Kong. At an early age, she discovered her passion for the fashion industry by experienced great success in modeling for over 10 years.
Grace first appearance on the runway was a favour to a friend, however she was soon approached by a number of model agencies, and her career took off.
With her tall figure and the high fashion look, Grace is well known for being one of the region’s popular fashion models in town. She has appeared in runway for numerous international brands including Vivienne Westwood, DVF, Vera Wang, Fendi, Hermes, Oscar De Le Renta, Cartier, Peter Som and many more. Highlights of her career have been the London & Paris Fashion Week ’09.
While she could still be at the prime of her modeling career, Grace has become a fashion show producer and created her own event company, Gorgeous Productions while she was still modeling. She focuses her drive and energy on event management and fashion show production. Besides, she has also created a design clothing line in the recent years.
Furthermore, with her fashion design and business educational background in Hong Kong and Australia, together with her experience in the fashion industry and strong passion, Grace has created her own label “Yi-ming” in 2011. Yi-ming is derived from her name in Mandarin pinyin. She is fascinated with distinctive oriental fashion cultures, and aims to create a modern, chic interpretation of this in an East-meets-West style ladies’ wear. After the 1st collection launched in 2012, Grace has received inspiring response and she had then been approached to design chinoiserie uniforms for two new luxury boutique hotels in Hong Kong and won popularity from the public. In 2014, Grace has received a “40 under 40” outstanding fashion designer award by Perspective Magazine. Currently Yi-ming collection is available in online stores and several boutiques in Hong Kong.
